Gary enjoyed old cars and trucks, tinkering in his garage, golfing, playing pool, learning to play guitar, reading history related books, watching documentaries on TV, being a Vikings and Twins fan, and working out at the Mayo’s Healthy Living Center. Gary enjoyed many good times with family and friends and will be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor.

Moose and family, we are so sorry for your loss of Gary. Though we never had the pleasure of meeting him, Moose, we sensed the two of you had a strong partnership. You all remain in our prayers for peace and comfort as you celebrate his well-lived life. Hugs,

My condolences to Gary's family. I have worked with Gary for many years in Mayo Facilities. I can say that he is well missed and was one of the best employees that Mayo had! Gary was always willing to help were he could and did this whole heartedly! Gary met with me during my bout with my health--and we exchanged stories and he made it seem to be a bump in the road. Which it was. I am sorry to hear that cancer returned to take him from us. He is in a better place now and I know is looking down and smiling at us!!! My thoughts and prayer go out to the family --as he will be missed. God Bless!
Dear Doherty Family,
You probably don't know me but I am one of the dentists at Mayo Clinic that worked with Gary before 2010.
I thoroughly enjoyed working with Gary,..he was always willing to help us in the Dental Specialties department.
On sort notice, he transported some of our equipment out to RCTC to help with our participation in career day. This among many other circumstances were where we appreciated help with ay different items.
He was indeed a kind person and will be missed. God 's hand is on him and lives in your family.
On behalf of the Department of Dental Specialties, we extend our condolences to you and the family.
With Sympathy,
Tom Salinas
