Gary Dean Slesinski

Gary Dean Slesinski passed away from cancer on April 7, 2021 at his home in Rochester, MN, surrounded by his family.

Gary was born on December 6, 1943 in Hedrick, IA, to Harry and Lois (Mason) Slesinski.

In 1964, he joined the Air Force and was stationed at Clark Air Force Base, a SAC (Strategic Air Command) facility in the Philippines. Gary had top security clearance, with a specialty in encrypted communications. He served our country for four years.

Employment opportunities brought Gary to Rochester, in 1968 where he met his beloved bride, Jean. They were married on May 17, 1969, had three wonderful daughters, and enjoyed 52 years together.

During his 42 year tenure at Marigold/Kemps Foods, Gary worked across many departments and was qualified in any position. He retired in 2011 to pursue more time with his family.

Gary enjoyed classic car shows, museums, and RV trips to countless points of interest. Above all, he enjoyed frequent trips to visit his daughters and three grandchildren in California.

Gary is survived by his wife, Jean; daughters, Brenda (Chris) Jepsen and Tamra (Chris) Nash; grandchildren, Carter, Logan, and Korina Jepsen; sister, Sandra Samson; along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Kathy Sue; sister, Joyce Wilson; and brother, Ivan Slesinski.

Gary was adored by his wife, daughters, and all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home. Military Honors will be accorded by the American Legion Post #92 at 4:00 p.m. Social distancing and masks are required.
