Gail Eleanor Forstie

A memorial service for Gail E. Forstie will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be at a later date at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery-Preston, Minnesota.

She was born on May 24, 1939 in Duluth to Oscar and Hulda Mattson.  Gail graduated from Cloquet High School and later received her BS in Accounting from WSU.

On November 23, 1957 she married Lee Forstie thus beginning a lifetime blessed with love and adventures, three amazing children and seven grandchildren.  Gail welcomed the quiet time of each morning enjoying that first cup of coffee.  She enjoyed cooking with family, walking, finding wildflowers and remembering times that included hiking and biking with Lee and family and also, special family picnics with her sister Linda and family.

Mt. Olive Lutheran Church and her friends were an important part of her days with quilting, prayer shawl, and Altar Guild ministries.

Survivors include her husband Lee, daughter Lynn (Randy) Bluske of Rochester, MN, daughter Robin (Aldo) Sicoli of Eagan, MN, and son Scott (Lori) of Rochester, MN, and grandchildren Jeff, Amy (Will), Brad, Matt, Ben (Crissy), Zack (Josie), and Eleanor, and sister Linda Gram.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be given to the Salvation Army.
