The funeral service for Frank “Bud” Peters will be 10:00 a.m. Monday November 10, 2014 at the Congregational Church, UCC in Rochester, MN with Rev. Teresa Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Rochester, MN. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday November 9, 2014 in River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home and one hour before the service at the church on Monday.
Mr. Peters, 89, lifelong resident of Rochester died peacefully in his sleep Tuesday November 4, 2014 at Golden Living Health and Rehabilitation Center East in Rochester.
Frank was born February 22, 1925 in Rochester, MN to John and Mary Jensen Peters. Frank attended the old Bamber Valley School and Rochester High School. Frank met his bride Darlene Johnson at Schultz’s Farm in a Strawberry Patch and they were married July 5, 1959 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Rochester, MN. Frank enjoyed dancing to polka’s and waltzes at the Pla-Mor with his wife Darlene. Frank was dedicated in serving the public as a lineman for 43 years at Peoples Co-op Power in Rochester. He enjoyed going to the “Hanson Truck Stop” to have a cup of “Norwegian brew” with the local neighbors and family members. Frank loved to tinker with radios and anything that involved electricity. He also loved his John Deere Tractor, his truck, cars, wrestling and his dog “Pebbles”. In Frank’s later years he enjoyed camping, traveling to Florida and visiting family and friends.
Survivors include his wife Darlene; daughter Susanne “Sue” (Peter) Chrisler of Apex, North Carolina, son; Jerold “Jerry” Peters of Rochester, two granddaughters; Kristina Chrisler of Orlando, FL. and Nicole Chrisler of Apex, NC., three sisters, Betty Pyffereon of Mantorville, Gladys Larson of Plainview, and Mildred Christopherson of Rochester. Frank is also survived by all his nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Ann Johnson, Esther Peters, Marge Peterson, Frieda Curtis, and brothers William (Bill), Johnny, George “Chub”, and Christy Peters.
