Frank Albert Havlish

Frank Albert Havlish, age 66, passed away peacefully Sunday, April 11, 2010, at his place of residence surrounded by family and friends following a 6 month battle with cancer.

A visitation will be held at the Macken Funeral Home of Rochester, MN, on Thursday, April 15th from 5pm-8pm and one hour prior to Funeral Services that will be held at Maken Funeral Home on Friday, April 16th at 4pm.

Frank was born on June 18, 1943, in Glenco, MN, to Frank Cyril and Vivian (Hed) Havlish. He grew up in Gaylord, MN, and graduated from Gaylord High School. While residing in the Gaylord area he worked a variety of jobs including bartending, construction, and service station owner. He later moved to Rochester, MN; where he made his home for the past 23 years. Frank married Patricia Lynn Spitzack of Rochester on September 21, 1996.

Frank retired in January 2009, after working as head bartender at the Rochester Golf and Country Club for 17 years and 4 years as the bar manager of the Eyota American Legion post 551.

Frank enjoyed traveling, gardening, cooking, playing cards, gambling, sports, and the companionship of his two dogs, Zoey and Missy.

He is survived by his wife, Patti, three children: Pamela Sullivan of Las Vegas, NV, Amy Fitt-Donovan (Chad) of Kasson, MN, Anthony (Tony) Spitzack (Beka) of Rochester, MN, and nine grandchildren: Gatlin, Sara, Dean, Lance, Anthony, Hugh, Ella, Gavin, and Bredden.

Frank was proceeded in death by his mother and brothers, Gerald Hed and James Havlish.

Frank’s life was blessed with wonderful family, friends, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all those that loved him.
