Francis J. Reardon
Francis Joseph Reardon – Rochester
Francis Joseph Reardon was born to Marie (Krathaus) and Francis Reardon on May 20, 1941, in Buffalo, New York. With his family by his side, Fran passed away on September 15, 2025 following a short, but courageous, battle with lung cancer. He was a man of deep faith and strong conviction.
Fran graduated from Canisius College in 1963 and five months later married Mary Foran. A short time later, they moved to Minnesota, where he worked for IBM for 33 years. In 1972, he earned a master’s degree in computer science from the University of Minnesota.
Francis is survived by his wife, Mary (Foran), and their five children: Mary Deitchler, Robert (Julianne), John (Heather), Cathy (Rocky) Wells, and Patti (Chris) Price, twenty grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and his brother, Patrick (Marylee). He is preceded in death by his son, Joseph Francis, son in-law, Dale Deitchler, and his sister, Mary Alice (Paul) Dunphy.
Fran’s family was always his first priority. He loved learning how everything operated and was meticulous in his carpentry and woodworking skills. He was a self-taught expert in plumbing, electricity, auto mechanics, and sailing – just ask his kids, who inherited this desire to never stop learning.
The Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Pax Christi Catholic Church in Rochester, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior. A second Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 6, 2025 at St. Mary’s church in Swormville, NY with burial to follow after the service. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to either Creighton University or Lourdes High School.

May God give Fran peace and welcome him into his kingdom. Fran was indeed a family man of great faith. He was always willing to give assistance in any capacity, whether it be at the church, at his Florida home, wherever, whenever. He will be missed. May Mary and the whole family have comfort knowing he is with our Lord. God Bless🙏
