Frances “Penny” Flynn

Frances Irene “Penny” Flynn, 83, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2026 at Bethany Village Care Center in Lindsborg, Kansas.

Penny was born to Frank & Irene Bambenek of Goodview, MN, on June 10^th, 1942.  She graduated from Winona High School in 1960. Penny married Raymond Benter, they later divorced.

She worked at Watkins Products in Winona and Mayo Clinic in Rochester.  In 1971, Penny married Richard Flynn. He died in 1999.

Penny worked in the insurance business for 45yrs in Winona, Rochester, and Byron MN.

Penny is survived by her children: Timothy Benter, Joseph (Ashley) Benter, Grandchildren: Ariel (Max) Griffin, Bailey Benter, Devin (Hannah) Benter, Jace (Shayla) Griffin, Brylee Swanson & Conner Hartung. Stepdaughter Camille Bennett-Hoffman; Brother James (Kelly) Bambenek & Richard Bambenek along with many nieces & nephews.

Penny is preceded in death by her parents, brother William Bambenek, Raymond Benter, Richard Flynn, stepson Todd Flynn, grandson Collin Richard Benter and companion Duane McFarland.

A service in Kansas will be held at Bethany Home Chapel (321 N Chestnut, Lindsborg KS 67456) on Sunday, 8 February, 2026 at 2:30PM.

A service in Minnesota will be held in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home, (1105 12^th St SE, Rochester, MN 55904) on Friday, February 13, 2026 at 11:00am. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the Chapel.

Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Rochester, MN.
