Frances Delores Batt

Frances Delores Batt, age 77, died in her home Saturday, November 10, 2018 of natural causes. Her family was beside her.

Frances was born April 25, 1941 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester to Selmer and Frankie Bergeson. She grew up in the Spring Valley area with her three brothers. As the only girl, Frances was a tom-boy through and through. She loved to play ball and rough house with the boys. She married Robert “Bob” Batt on November 22, 1957. They lived in the Chatfield and Spring Valley area before moving to Rochelle, IL in 1966.

Frances loved doing for others. She was the glue that held the family and friends together. She loved spending time with her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. Frances loved gardening, hanging clothes outside, garage saleing, and cooking strange things for her family. Frances would give her last dollar to anyone who needed money.

She is survived by her children, Alice (Doug) Stomberg of Rochester, Darla (Lawrence) Wright of Eyota, Edward Batt of Franklin Grove, IL, Susan Batt of Rochester, and Donna (Sam) South of  Detroit, AL. Frances is also survived by her three brothers, Selmer (Carol) Bergeson of Racine, MN, Curt (Thelma) Bergeson of Rochester, MN, and Steve (Susan) Bergeson of Rochester; 14 grandchildren; seven step grandchildren; and 64 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bob; parents, Selmer and Frankie; three great-granddaughters; one great-grandson; one step great-granddaughter; and daughter in law, Dale Batt.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 15 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 17 in Lawn Ridge Cemetery in Rochelle, IL. A memorial luncheon will be held in the spring.

The loss of a loved one is a very sad and heavy load to bare. Grandma its been so long and im so sorrt i wasnt there for you but you have never been away from my heart.  I think about you everyday and ill continue to do so throughout the rest of my life . Ill always be your buttons. Ill miss you as much as i miss grandpa still . Until we meet again ill be here thinking about you and holding you in my heart.
