Evelyn S. Delaney

Evelyn Delaney, 98, of Rochester, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 23rd after a brief illness.

Evelyn was born April 29, 1920 in Haverhill Township to John and Susanna Miller. Evelyn attended Haverhill Country School. On November 19, 1941, Evelyn married Walter (Walt) Delaney and they resided in Rochester their entire married life where they raised their two children, Virginia (Ginger) and John (JD). Walter passed away July 17, 1975.

Evelyn was employed at St. Marys Hospital as the Laundry Supervisor from 1954 until her retirement in 1990.  Evelyn was a member of St. Francis Church for the past 70 years.

Survivors include her daughter, Ginger Delaney Ingalls; grandchildren, Brenda Ingalls Hanson (Rod Hanson), Donna Whiting and Mike Ingalls; great-grandchildren, Aimalicia (Chase) Staub, Pat Hanson, Aaron Ingalls and Shelby Ingalls. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Walter; son, John; great-grandson, Matt Hanson; four brothers and three sisters.

The funeral service will be Saturday, May 26 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis Church with Rev. Msgr. Thomas Cook officiating. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Francis.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Francis Church, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
