Evelyn C. Robinet

Evelyn Charlotte Robinet, 99, of Rochester, formerly of RockDell and LeRoy, passed
away peacefully on April 4 at Samaritan Bethany on Eighth.

Evelyn was born on Feb. 25, 1917 , to Carl and Augusta Hanson in Chicago. On June 7,
1947, she married Harold Robinet in Chicago, and they resided on the family farm in Sibley,
Iowa. They farmed there for eight years, then moved to the Le Roy area to continue to farm until 1966, before finally moving to rural Kasson (RockDell). After the death of her husband in 1998,she resided at Fontaine Towers and then moved to Samaritan Bethany in 2011, due to health issues.

She was an avid Twins and Vikings fan and animal lover, which influenced her to leave the big
city for farm life. She also loved to dine out, especially at Hunan Garden.

Survivors include four children, Char Robinet of Rochester, Mary Bäcker of Key West, Fla., Ed
(Ren’ee) Robinet of Kasson, Chuck (Sue) Robinet of Rochester, six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, three brothers, and two sisters and a great-granddaughter.

A visitation will be held at River Park Chapel, Macken Funeral Home on Thursday, April 7, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a Rosary following led by the Knights of Columbus.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 8, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 202 4th St. NW Byron, with the Rev. Fr. Paul Surprenant officiating. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the Mass at the Church. Internment will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Rochester.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to Christ the King Catholic Church, Paws and
Claws Animal Shelter or Camp Companion.
