Esther M. Hanson

A memorial service for Esther M. Hanson will be Saturday January 14, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home. Friends may call one hour before the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hanson, 94 of Rochester, died Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at her home in Rochester.

Esther was born January 22, 1917 in Hordville, Nebraska, to Gust and Betsy (Berglund) Eklund. She married Elmer Hanson on August 19, 1946 in Nebraska. Elmer died September 6, 2003. The family moved to Kasson in 1956. She was a great mother and grandmother and enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family.

Esther worked for Seneca foods in Rochester for 42 years.

Survivors include a daughter Betty (Dan) Bielen of Byron and grandchildren Wendy (Stacy) Jahraus and great grandchildren Aiden, Kiya, and Jace; Chad (Shelly) Bielen and great grandson Reid; Angie and Jennifer Bielen. Three sons, Ronnie (Terry) of Byron and granddaughter Nickie ;  Danny (Sandy) of Byron and grandchildren Ryan, Stacy, and great grandchild Rylyn ;  Larry Hanson of Kasson and granddaughter Holly. Esther is also survived by her care giver Deb Jones. She was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 3 sisters.

Memorials are preferred to Bear Creek Services, or Mended Little Hearts of Southeastern Minnesota.
