Elsie Louise Weaver

Elsie Louise Weaver – Rochester

Elsie Louise Weaver, 89, of Rochester, MN, passed away on October 10, 2024, at Mayo Clinic Methodist Hospital.

Elsie was born February 19, 1935, in Rochester, MN to William and Anna (Holt) Watson. She graduated from Rochester High School in 1953. On December 11, 1953 she married the love of her life, Kenneth Weaver, at The Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They returned several times to renew their vows at the August get together.

She was a waitress at the Kahler Hotel for over 40 years. There she met many celebrities including James Stewart, LBJ, Lady Bird and girls. Her favorite was Billy Graham. He never left without thanking her and saying God Bless.

Elsie and Kenneth raised their five daughters together in Rochester. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.­­

Elsie loved square dancing, camping, sewing, quilting, and traveling. She had travelled to all 50 states and one of her favorite trips was to Alaska for 3 months in their motor home. Elsie and Kenneth spent 20 years wintering in Yuma, Arizona.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Kenneth, daughters; Regina (James) Lawman, Debora Paulson (Michael Tointon), Joanie (James) Stevenson, Annmarie (Eugene) Kuyath, Barbara (Troy) Sims; 12 grandchildren; and 25 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents and 8 siblings.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 26, 2024 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will be held at a later date.
