Ella Mae Eddy

Ella Mae Eddy, 92 of rural Marion, MN passed away on January 26, 2016 at Stewartville Care Center where she had lived for seven months.

Ella Mae McConaughey was born on May 29, 1923 in Lamberton, MN to Paul and Ada McConaughey. She was married to Orville Woltz for 23 years before his death. She was then married to John Eddy for 27 years until his death in 2001.

Ella Mae was a long-time member of Marion Church of Christ, where she taught Sunday School, worked with youth groups, and helped with quilt-making and other ministries as needed. She was a prayer warrior. She loved the outdoors, gardening, flowers, nature, and all of God’s handiwork. She enjoyed bird-watching, butterflies, and writing poetry about her faith and observations on life.

Ella Mae never had children, but is survived by three step-grandsons, five great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews from the Graham, Langton, and McConaughey families, as well as many friends and neighbors.

She is preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, a step-daughter, and three brothers.

The Funeral Service for Ella Mae will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Marion Church of Christ with Pastor Rick Walston officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Marion Cemetery.

I had the privilege of spending time with Ella Mae while working at the Stewartville Care Center this summer.  We enjoyed walks outside and having coffee together.  I know she is where she wants to be, at peace with the Lord.  Blessings, Lynn Brugh
