Elizabeth M. Carlson

Elizabeth (Beth) M. Carlson, age 81, of Rochester MN, entered into the presence of Jesus, her loving Savior on October 31, 2018.

She was a devoted wife, a joyful mother, very beloved grandma, and a loyal sister. She leaves behind her husband of 57 years, Jim Carlson; son, Scott (Andrea) Carlson; daughters, Kimberly (Jon) Sorensen, and Heather Carlson; and her grandchildren, James, Linnea, Maria, Hayden, William, and Christian; along with her brother, Rev. Bill (Cyndie) Hay.

Beth had a gentle spirit and a soft spot for her grandchildren.  She showed us how to love like Jesus loves, and we are forever thankful. Beth loved to explore the world, try new adventures, host friends and go on early morning walks.  She was born in Duluth, MN, then moved to Sacramento, CA after she married Jim, where they raised three children before moving back to Minnesota.  She enjoyed her career as a school nurse and volunteered extensively in her retired years.  We all will miss her deeply, yet we rejoice that she is now in heaven and free of the bonds of earth!

We will celebrate Beth at a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 6 at Autumn Ridge Church Chapel, 3611 Salem Rd SW, Rochester, MN 55902 with Rev. Karen Foster officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

We are deeply appreciative of the wonderful memory care staff at The Waters, who gave her such loving care during her time there. Memorials preferred to Autumn Ridge Church or to the Alzheimer’s Association.

The family of Elizabeth M. Carlson has received the following condolences.

My sincere sympathies to the family.  Beth will always be a shinning example of how a Christian and a leader should live.

I knew Beth from my Red Hat days.

My condolences to Heather and her family.

Our prayers are with the family .  I got to get to know Beth in BSF and Red Hats.  We both came to Rochester at the same time and that was an extra bond.  She always had a smile and cared about others. She will be missed.

Jim, Kim, Heather and Scott

Dear Kim, Jon, and family,  We are so sorry to hear of the passing of your precious mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother. May God comfort your hearts. With our deepest condolences.                      Marlene and Steve Smith

Beth was a wonderful friend!  She was Christ like in all her ways here on earth.  I will always remember her laughter as she repeated the story of our cat flooding the house after he turned on the bathroom faucet.  Her leadership was acknowledged when she was Queen of our Red Hat Chapter.  She was so faithful to our church small group, Friends Indeed.  Excellent hospitality was another strong point of Beth's.  The list could go on......she will be long remembered.  Marilyn K. Leske

Although I never met you, I feel like I know you well through your one of a kind, most lovely daughter Heather.  My deepest sympathy to the family.

We Praise God that she is with him. She touched our lives with memories .what fun we had at the Moberg gatherings. So to the family our prayer for you is .Jesus will comfort you .May his light shine in you. May Jesus be your center always. We love you all Cousins Wayne and Cheryl
