Eleanor A. Irish

Eleanor Allene Irish, 72, of Chatfield, MN passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family after a short battle with cancer.

Eleanor was born to Claude and Hazel Asher on September 9, 1947 in Rochester, MN. She attended Chatfield High School. She worked at Strongwell in Chatfield and retired in January of 2017.

She married Kenneth (Ken) Irish on November 26, 1966. They have two sons, Dean (Shelley) Irish and Eric Irish, and four grandchildren, Mitchell, Brook, Brynn, and Brady all of Chatfield.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, and searching for a good deal at a garage sale.

Eleanor is survived by her children; grandchildren; brothers, Lynn Asher of McIntosh, MN, Steve (Darlene) Asher of Pine City, MN, and Randy (Tami) Asher of Zimmerman, MN.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ken; parents, Claude and Hazel Asher; and brother, Jerry Asher.

Private family graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 4.

The family of Eleanor A. Irish has received the following condolences.

We extend our deepest and most sincere sympathies. Eleanor was a giving and loving soul. Every living being had some value to Eleanor. Her family was first and foremost in her life. She expressed after losing Ken she would not take chemo. I feel truly blessed to have been able to have some fun play dates with Eleanor since her retirement. I loved to watch Ken and Eleanor float around the dance floor. May you all find peace and be comforted by one another. Hugsssssss!

I am so sorry, about your mom. I  am glad I had the opportunity to stop by last summer and visit her. I will always remember what a nice, gentle person she was.

It is hard to lose someone so special, not only to the family but also the many friends.

Eleanor and I worked together in the accounting department at Strongwell for years. She taught me a lot at work and was a good friend. I loved our occasional coffee times together. She always had a smile and was always willing to lend a hand. I will miss her very much. Prayers of strength to her family.
