Edward J. Weber

The Funeral Mass for Edward Weber will be at 12:00 noon, Monday, March 17, 2014 at Pax Christi Catholic Church, with the Revs. Joseph Fogal, Donald Schmitz and Donald Zenk officiating.  Visitation will be held from 5:00PM – 8:00PM, Sunday, March 16, 2014 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home and one hour prior to the Mass at the church on Monday. Burial will be at St. Bridget’s Cemetery in Simpson, MN.

Edward Weber, 89 of Rochester, died Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Maple Manor Healthcare Center in Rochester.

Edward Joseph Weber was born January 2, 1925 in Simpson MN to Martin and Marie (Bingham) Weber.  On April 18, 1953 he married Marie Kaminski at St. Agnes Church in Kellogg, MN.  He was a brick layer and stone mason for Weis, Stocke, Benike and Talmo construction companies.

Edward was a WWII Navy Veteran.

He is survived by his wife Marie of 61 years, 2 children, Mark (Jean) Weber of Colorado Springs, CO and Diane Weber of Stewartville, MN; 4 grandchildren, Karen Weber of Colorado Springs, CO, Michael Weber of Onalaska, WI, Kurtis (Mandy) Weber of Blackfoot ID, James Bussing of Stewartville, 4 great-grandchildren and one sister, Georgia (Jerry) Witte of Chatfield.  He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Therese Esser.

He was a life-long resident of the Rochester area.  He was member of Pax Christi Catholic Church and the VFW.  He loved to garden, fish, travel, camp and family get-togethers.  He enjoyed reading and was a history buff.  He also worked on caning chairs and upholstered furniture.
