The funeral service for Doris Louise Schreiber will be at 11:00AM, Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Bethel Lutheran Church with Rev. Norman Wahl officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 14, 2013 from 5:00PM – 7:00PM at the River Park Chapel Macken Funeral Home and for one half hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens.
Doris L. Schreiber, 93, of Rochester, MN died on Friday, May 10, 2013 at her home. She was born Doris Hofstad on September 13, 1919 in Storden, MN to Caleb and Amanda (Osland) Hofstad. She married Kenneth Schreiber on March 20, 1947 in South Dakota.
She is survived by her husband, 2 daughters, Ann Braun of Lake City, MN and Jean Schreiber of Rochester; 3 sons, Joseph (Lois) Schreiber of St. Charles, MN, David (Susan) Schreiber of Rochester, and Peter (Sheila) Schreiber of Stewartville, MN; 2 sisters, Synnova Solomonson of Windom, MN and Iris Kaihoi of Willmar, MN. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Doris was preceded in death by 3 sisters, 1 brother; 1 great grandson, Carson Braun and 1 son in-law, Thomas Braun.
Doris worked at Sears in the drapery department. She was a longtime member of Bethel Lutheran Church where she was active with the Bethel Quilters. Doris attended the University of Minnesota Ag. School, graduating in the spring of 1942 where she won an award in archery. She was an accomplished seamstress and clothing designer.
Doris was a much loved mother, grandmother and great grandmother who put her family before herself.
Memorials are preferred to the Bethel Quilters and The Young In Spirit (Senior Group).

Very sad to hear of Doris' passing. She was always such a kind person and I loved going to my Grandparents house whenever Kenny and her would visit Storden. Sending prayers for your family.
I was saddened to hear of Aunt Doris's passing. She was such a gentle soul,and i alwys enjoyed all the times we had together. I always apppreciated her kindness toward my parents in my mothers last years,now she is reunited with those she loved. Bruce and I send our deepest condolences and prayers to you all.
My thoughts and prayers are with the family. Doris is probably sitting in a rocking chair with Carson right now. <3
