Doris Forney Clarkson

The funeral service for Doris Forney Clarkson will at 11:00AM, Monday, October 24, 2011 at River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with the Rev. Linda Helberg officiating.  Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Rochester.  Visitation will be held from 2:00-5:00PM on Sunday, October 23, 2011 at River Park Chapel and one hour prior to the service on Monday.

Mrs. Clarkson, age 91, of Eyota, passed away on Friday, October 21, 2011 at St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center in Wabasha, Minnesota. Doris was born on December 22, 1919 to Louis and Sarah (Butlin) Forney in Pleasant Grove Township, MN.  She was raised there and later married Russell Clarkson.  Doris worked hard all of her life raising kids and being a homemaker.  She also worked for a short time at the canning factory.

Doris is survived by her husband Russell; two sons, Ron Clarkson of Texas and Darrell Clarkson of Oklahoma; two daughters, Charlotte Youngs of Mazeppa and Kathy Ochs of Eyota; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers, Frank Forney of Dover and Lyle (Eleanor) Forney of Oronoco.  She was preceded in death by two sons, James and Robert, three brothers and five sisters.

She loved going to flea markets and ran a booth at times.  She also liked to fish, travel, play cards and visit with family and friends.  She was very gentle and loving and will be greatly missed.
