Donovan D. Moon Jr.

Donovan David Moon Jr., 62 of Rochester passed away on March 15, 2018 at his home.

Don was born on June 25, 1955 in Fort Worth, TX to Donovan and Jean Moon. With his father in the US Air Force, the family traveled often, but settled in Wykoff, MN, where Don attended school. He graduated from Wykoff High School and attended Rochester Vocational-Technical School specializing in automotive. On September 28, 1985 he married Rebecca Nelson. The couple was later divorced. For a time, Don worked for Schmidt Volkswagen in Rochester but retired after over 34 years with Marigold Dairy in 2015. Above all, Don loved his two children, Laura and Andy. He was a lover of animals, especially cats. He also loved fishing, had a wonderful knowledge of history, and knew everything there was to know about cars. Don was known as an innovator, who always had an idea or a solution to fix a problem.

He is survived by his children, Laura (Marshall) Eide of Rochester and Andrew Moon of Rochester; his mother, Jean Moon of Wykoff, MN; three siblings, Kathy (Luis) Ortiz of McIntosh, NM, Carol (Bruce) Owens of Spring Valley, MN, and Laurie (Steve) Tasson of Mantorville; and his ex-wife Rebecca Moon of Rochester.

He is preceded in death by his father.

A Memorial Service for Don will be held on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at 11:00AM in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the chapel.
