Diane R. Roth

Diane Renee Roth – Rochester

Diane Renee Roth, 80, of Rochester, MN, was called to heaven, Tuesday August 5, 2025, while at home with her family.

Diane was born January 20, 1945 in Sioux City, Iowa to William “Bill” and Lula (Smith) Hall.  She was the youngest of 8 children.  After the death of her parents in 1952 and 1954, Diane went to live with an aunt and uncle in Ontario, Oregon.  In 1963 she graduated from Ontario High School and then from nursing school at Treasure Valley Community College.  In 1968 she met and married Bernard Louis “Lou” Roth of New Plymouth, Idaho, and for the next 20 years together they served the Lord while traveling the world with the United States Air Force.  In 1969 God blessed them with the birth of their daughter, Katherine Elizabeth, and in 1974 they celebrated the birth of their son, Sean Christopher.

Diane’s greatest loves were, serving the Lord, reading her Bible, caring for her family, and traveling to new places.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Lou, daughter Katherine, son Sean, and her grandchildren: Shane, Emily, Drew, Henry, Jacob and Isaac.  She is preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers and 4 sisters.

The funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at Victory Baptist Church, Rochester, MN, with Pastor Brandon Black officiating.  Gathering will begin at 10:00 am with reception to follow.  Burial and graveside will be held 2:00pm at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Preston, MN.

Family requests that flowers or memorial gifts be sent to Victory Baptist Church, Rochester, MN.

Condolences

The family of Diane R. Roth has received the following condolences.

Lou, Katie, Sean and grandchildren Shane, Emily, Drew, Henry, Jacob, and Isaac:

We were so sad to learn that Diane had passed away, but rejoice that she is in heaven with the Lord Jesus and many, many familty members that have gone before her.

She truly lived the life of a strong and steadfast Christian woman, like those described in the Bible:

"Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her.

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.

Many women do noble things, but Diane surpassed them all."

We are praying that God brings you peace and comfort at this difficult time.

We praise God that He promises because we accepted Jesus, we will all one day be reunited again in heaven.

We love and miss you and wish we could come to the memorial service.

Even though time and distance have separated us for many years, you are a dear part of our Smith/Barnes family and we love and ask God to bless you greatly.

Much love and sincere sympathy -
