Derek Paul Weber

Derek Paul Weber, 48, of Rochester, MN died Tuesday, January 28, 2020.

Derek was born December 29, 1971 in Rochester, MN, to Lucille (Ferguson) and Vernon Weber. He graduated from John Marshall in 1991 and took various business classes after that.He started his employment by working at several Rochester area pizza restaurants. Derek then worked for a hotel restoration company that allowed him to see nearly every state east of the Mississippi as well as many western states. Derek returned to living in Rochester and spent the last seven years delivering pizzas for Toppers.

Derek enjoyed bowling, gambling in Vegas, and was a fan of MN sports, especially the Gophers, Twins and Vikings. Derek’s ever-present sarcastic sense of humor will be remembered fondly.

He is survived by parents, Vern and Lucille Weber of Rochester; brothers, Wade (Amy) of New Brighton, and Brent (Heather) of Rochester; nephew, Caleb and niece, Josie; along with many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by grandparents, and five aunts and uncles.

The memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 1, 2020 in River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Zaske officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. A private burial will be held at a later date.

Memorials are preferred to the American Heart Association.

Condolences

The family of Derek Paul Weber has received the following condolences.

Vern and Lucy so sorry to hear of your loss. We talk fondly of Jason and Dan growing up with the Weber's. God bless you at this very difficult time.

I am so sorry for the lose of your Great son Derek. I worked with him at Ci-Ci's pizza and even got to take him out fishing on the river one day. He was always a joy to work with and had a great sense of humor that made work so much fun.

Dear Lucille and Vern, Wade and Brent and families. So sorry to hear of your loss of Derek. Even though we haven't run into each other lately, I always loved running into Lucille and filling each other in on our families. My thoughts are with you at this time. The flood of 78 and how we helped each other comes to mind.

I am thinking of you during this difficult time.  I know Derek through by brother Fred and their group of friends Todd, George, and Stewart.  When around them or just a few of them, Derek's side eye or humor was always part of someone doing a spit-take, surprised snort on the sudden intake of air, or an outright outburst of laughter until one could barely breath and eyes were watering.  I hope you find some comfort within all of Derek's shared memories.  May you peaceful, may you be protected, in loving kindness.

Sorry to hear of the loss of Derek. I am sure this is not easy as a parent. Thinking of you all. Our sympathy is with you.

Our family is very sorry for your loss. Derek was friends with my sister Carol Dunford  and he worked at Pizza Hut with Shane, Kate and myself  for years. I will miss his sarcastic sense of humor and his friendship very much.

Dear Weber Family,

Please know I am thinking of you during this difficult time. I went to Kellogg Junior High with Derek, which feels like a lifetime ago in some ways and not that long ago in other ways. I hope you find comfort in your memories of Derek and support from your family and friends.

You are in my thoughts and prayers.
