Dennise L. Ahlstrom

Dennise L. (Morrow) Ahlstrom, 60, of Rochester, passed away at her home on Saturday, March 16, 2019 surrounded by her family and loved ones after a brave 18 month battle with cancer.

Dennise was born on February 12, 1959 in Rochester, MN to Dennis and Margaret (Newkirk) Morrow. She attended John Marshall High School and graduated in 1978. On November 3, 1978 she married the love of her life and high school sweet heart Damian Ahlstrom and together they welcomed and raised three children. While her children were young, she was blessed to work from home as a daycare provider for 17 years and later returned to the workforce where she worked 25 years at Wal-Mart North.

Being at home with her family and watching her husband do projects around the house are what brought her the greatest joy. She was a beautiful person who was kind, generous and grateful for what she had. Her loved ones will forever cherish the memories of her at every major and minor milestone and celebration, the most recent being the celebration of her 40th wedding anniversary and her 60th birthday.

She is survived by her husband, Damian; her children, Dane (Kelly) Ahlstrom of Rochester, Desiree Ahlstrom of Rochester, and Danelle (Pete) Roseboom of Rochester; her four grandchildren, Brady and Cody Ahlstrom, and Peter and Emma Roseboom; her mother, Margaret Boe of LeRoy; her four siblings, Barbara Morrow of Rochester, Darin (Jill) Morrow of Grand Meadow, Jeffrey (Jody) Morrow of LeRoy, and Donald Morrow of Stewartville; and her many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

She is preceded in death by her father, Dennis; and her brother, Rodney.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday March 21st at Co-Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Rochester with Rev. Msgr. Gerald Mahon officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home, and will continue one hour prior to the service on Thursday.

I wanted to express my heartfelt condolences to all of Dennise’s family. Death is the hardest thing we have to deal with in life. I know my words can’t change anything and can do little to ease the pain you are feeling, so I pray that the God of comfort calm your hearts and help you heal. (2 Thessalonians 2:16,17) One way that God comforts us today is by moving people who care about us to give us words of encouragement that we need to hear. Doug & Janice Reid

My deepest condolences to the Morrow and Ahlstrom Families. I have very fond memories of the time i spent with Dennise when we were young. My Mom called her The Angel in my Harem! It was Dennise, Kim and Cathy, that were always by my side...and Barbie Too, In my El Camino. A day never went by that Dennise didnt put a smile on my face. I will also hold it forever in my heart when Dennise begged me to drive her to meet Damian, which would be their first date, and the rest is History. Heaven has surely gained the sweetest Angel of all time...

So sorry for your loss.

I am so sorry to hear of Dennises passing.  I worked with her at Wal-Mart and she was a joy to work with and be around.

I love you more than anything in the world mom and I miss you just as much??
