Deloris F. Herdina

The Funeral Mass for Deloris F. Herdina will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2011, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Rochester, with Rev. Timothy T. Reker officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Rochester. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the church on Wednesday.

Mrs. Herdina, 87, formerly of Rochester, died Saturday, March 26, 2011, at Golden Living Continental Manor in Abbotsford, Wis.

Deloris was born March 7, 1924, in Faribault, to Raymond and Elizabeth Samson. On Oct. 11, 1947, she married Albert L. Herdina at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Faribault. Mr. Herdina died Aug. 13, 1991. Deloris was a secretary for the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and later for Lutheran Social Services, both in Rochester. Mr. Herdina worked for the U.S. Post Office and was a WWII veteran.

Deloris lived the past three years in Abbotsford, and prior to that in Marshfield, Wis. After leaving Rochester she lived in Silver Bay, Minn., Cumberland, Wis., and St Paul.

Mrs. Herdina was a past member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, where she was involved in the St. Gertrude’s Rosary Society. She also was a member of the Eagles Women’s Auxiliary and the DAV Auxiliary.

Survivors include two sons, Dennis (Barbara) of Silver Bay, Minn., and Raymond (Julia) of Manhattan, Mont.; two daughters, Rita (Jeffrey) Austin of Marshfield, Wis., and Anne of Raleigh, N.C.; four grandchildren, Margaret (Joe) Lynch of Elko, Minn., Elizabeth (Jarrett) Mathwig of Shakopee, Andrew (Mindy) Herdina of Havre, Mont., and Michael (Sara) Herdina of Harlowton, Mont. Deloris also has four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and daughter Margaret Mary.

Memorials are preferred to the Lewy Body Foundation.
