Debra E. Dornack

The funeral service for Debra E. Dornack will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2013  at 11:00AM in River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with Pastor Lyle Fritsch of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Stewartville officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.  Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Rochester.

Debra, age 50, died peacefully at her home on Wednesday, July 24 after battling cancer.

Affectionately known as Deb, she was born on February 5, 1963 in Rochester to John and Mary Laivell.

Deb grew up in Rochester and graduated from Mayo High School in 1981.  She attended Rochester Vocational Technical School where she earned her Nursing Assistant degree.  Deb enjoyed a career working with disabled children and adults.  She married Brett Dornack on September 6, 1997 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Rochester.  They made their home in Stewartville, Minnesota.

Deb enjoyed traveling, cooking, and hosting the annual 4th of July celebration with family and friends.  She was a gentle soul who cared for all of God’s creatures and had a soft spot for children.

Deb is survived by her husband Brett; her daughter Madison; 3 step-children; sisters, Faye (Michael) Conrad of Owatonna, Mary Jo (Gary) Prigge of Wabasha, and brother John Laivell of Rochester.  She was preceded in death by her parents.
