Davidine T. (Becker) Aldrich

Davidine “Dee” Aldrich Obituary

Davidine “Dee” Terese Aldrich (nee. Berg) died peacefully on September 30, in Cedar Falls, Iowa at the age of 72, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Dee is survived by her twin sons Mike (Jenny) Becker of Cedar Rapids, IA and Mark (Wanda) Becker of Rochester, MN, sister Mary Helen (Fred) Reiter of Champaign, IL, grandchildren Lori Ringen, Kevin Becker and Carolyn Becker, Erin Becker and Bastian Uribe-Echevarria, Maddy Becker, Sara Goodman and Matt Goodman, Leigha Korpal and Brad Westphal, Shaina Becker, Krystyna Becker, Taylor Becker, five great-grandchildren, Zack, Jasmine, Reagan, Kyler, and Lydia, her former husband, Tom Becker of Rochester, MN, and a very special caring friend, Diane Lawless of Evansdale, IA, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Dee was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Lester Berg, her brothers Bill (Judy) Berg, Eddie Joe Johnston, and Tommy Johnston, her sister Kitty Bush, and her husband, Bob Aldrich.

Dee was born October 3, 1942 in Rochester, MN. She graduated from John Marshall High School in Rochester, MN and received her LPN in Iowa. Dee worked in several retail service positions and as an LPN at the Windsor Nursing Home in Waterloo, IA before her retirement in 2010.

Dee was an avid reader and a keen fan of organization. She loved her family, particularly her twin sons, Mike and Mark, and their wives and her grandchildren. She was a nurse at heart, caring for others in her unique way, with her quick wit and sly sense of humor that brought a smile to many.

Dee was a member of St. Francis of Assisi in Rochester, MN, and most recently a member of Queen of Peace, Waterloo, IA. The Pope’s visit to America brought hope and light to her final days.

A Catholic Liturgy is scheduled for Saturday, October 10, 10:30 a.m. in the River Park Chapel, Macken Funeral Home in Rochester, MN, with burial at Calvary Cemetery and luncheon to follow. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested  to Cedar Valley Hospice in Waterloo, IA, Rochester Beacon Academy, Rochester, MN, or the Kids First Law Center in Cedar Rapids, IA.

The family would like to thank the Cedar Valley Hospice staff for their care and support.

Condolences

The family of Davidine T. (Becker) Aldrich has received the following condolences.

Mike and Mark,

Our prayers are with you and your family at this time.  There is nothing worse than losing a loved one, especially your mother.  We hope that your memories will live on in your hearts forever.  We use to see you at different times when we were young.  I remember two little boys that had so much energy.  I wasn't that much older than you, but we were cousins just the same.  The years have flown bye and only wish that we would have remained closer.  You only go around once in this life and family is everything.  Our thoughts will be with you.

Sincerely,

Sherrill and Brian Dreibelbis

On behalf of the Rochester John Marshall Class of 1960, we offer our sympathies to Dee's family and friends.
