David William Saterdalen

David William Saterdalen, 83, of Wabasha, MN, passed away Monday, October 11, 2021 at home with his family.

David was born at St. Marys hospital on March 6, 1938 in Rochester, MN to William and Lydia (Beise) Saterdalen. David was a U.S. Marine and after being discharged he married Kay C. Raabe at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Rochester, Minnesota. David worked as a contractor building homes. Later, the couple moved to the cabin on Peterson Lake near Wabasha, Minnesota.

David was sometimes referred to by his friends and family as “The American Sportsman.” He enjoyed hunting and fishing. David was an avid duck hunter and had not missed an opener with Johnny since 1982. David was a member of the Eagles, VFW, American Legion, and the Southern Minnesota Trap Club. David loved to take walks with his wife, daughter and black lab Bingo, hunting with his son and most of all, spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Kay; daughter, Pamela Saterdalen of Wabasha; son, John (Alaina) Saterdalen of Kellogg; and brother, Thomas (Diane) Saterdalen of Bloomington, Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Scott David Saterdalen.

A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service, and a lunch to follow.

Memorials are preferred to Redeemer Lutheran Church.
