Daryl Edward Jensen

Mr. Jensen, 68, of Rochester, MN, formerly Minneapolis, MN died Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Rochester Health Services West under Mayo Hospice.

Daryl was born June 2, 1950 in Minneapolis to Edward and Inez (Evenson) Jensen. He graduated from North Minneapolis High School in 1968. After graduation he served in the Army and Vietnam War. He worked for Minneapolis Public Housing Authority until he moved to Rochester in 1990. In 1991, he married Georgia Young. Daryl worked for Community Housing Partnership until retirement.

Daryl loved sports along with coaching his children in many of them. He volunteered his time to coaching Rochester Youth Junior Gold Hockey. He loved collecting autographs and baseball cards, photography and woodworking.

Survivors include his wife, Georgia; his three daughters, Ann Jensen of Rochester, Katherine Laack of Rochester, and Carolyn Nelson of Forest Lake; two sons, Evan Jensen of Rochester, and Robert Laack of Rochester; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; three sisters, Lynette Reiling, Carol Smith and Cheryl Malmberg and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 2 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with Rev. Lester Horntvedt officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service at the funeral home on Tuesday. Military Honors will be provided by American Legion Post #92.
