Darrel Ruddick
Darrel Ruddick, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, age 89, of Rochester, MN, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2023. He is preceded in death by parents, Fred and Nellie, and brothers, Stanley and Donald. He is survived by wife of 59 years, Rita (Taschner), daughter, Kathy (Kevin) Hennessey of Rochester MN, son, David (Crista) Ruddick of Seattle WA, and grandchildren, Erin and Anna Hennessey, and Abbie and Ella Ruddick, nieces, Janelle Petterssen, Barb Nierengarten, and Laurie Pichert.
The funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 11th at the Co-Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist Church on 11 4th Ave SW, Rochester, MN 55902. Visitation will be held one hour preceding the service.

Your love for Darrel was beautiful to witness. From watching Rita place her hand over his at the dinner table, Kathy leaning in to him sharing a laugh, Kevin spotting deer with him in the backyard, Erin sharing a story with him, or to Anna giving him hugs, the love was always quietly present. Darrel’s smile and bright eyes were a constant from my first dinner at the Ruddick house as a teenager to my last dinner at the Hennessey house just recently.
We are so very sorry for your loss. Tight hugs, much love, and continued prayers for all of you.
