Darlene Marie Ravenhorst

The Memorial Service for Darlene Marie Ravenhorst will be at 10:30 AM Monday, August 27, 2012 at The Samaritan Bethany Chapel, with Pastor David Badgley officiating.  Burial will be in Hollandale Cemetery in Hollandale, Minnesota.

Darlene, 86, of Rochester, Minn., formerly of Lake City, Minn. Passed away Friday, (August 24, 2012), at Samaritan Bethany.

Darlene was born July 25, 1926 in Wells, MN.  On July 21, 1943 she was married to Herman Ravenhorst of Hollandale, MN.  The couple lived in Hollandale, Rochester and Lake City, MN.  Herman preceded Darlene in death in June, 1996.

Darlene was an avid home maker, excellent cook, loved to play Bingo and was the family Yahtzee queen.  She belonged to the VFW Ladies Auxiliary of Lake City, MN. and attended the Congregational Church of Lake City, MN.  Survivors include 4 daughters; Marjorie (Rodney) Smoot of Eau Claire, WI, Sharon (Garry) Chilson of Bryson City, NC, Rev. Ilene Blanche of Lake City, MN, Patricia (Alan) Wolf of Cheyenne, WY.  2 sons; David (Linda) Ravenhorst of Lake City, MN and John (Iann) Ravenhorst of Rochester, MN.  Two sisters; Lorraine Nielson and Virginia Busch.  Two brothers; James Olson and Dennis Olson.  Also survived by sisters-in law and many nieces and nephews.  Darlene has 22 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.

Darlene was preceded in death by her husband, Herman, a brother and sister, a son, a grandson and a great-great grandson.
