Dale E. Alcott

Dale Edgar Alcott, age 83, of Rochester, died Saturday, December 2, 2017 at his home with family present, following a two-year battle with lung cancer.

He married Betty Ann Fair on August 18, 1956 in Winona at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart. He served in the U.S. Army from 1956-1958 mainly stationed in Barstow, CA.

Returning to Rochester in 1958, Dale worked as a Cadillac Technician at Clements Chevrolet for 36 years. Upon retiring, Dale, along with Betty, worked as a driver for an additional 19 years into their early 80’s.

He loved fishing and camping, especially at Lake of the Woods, and enjoyed snowmobiling as well. Dale was a life-member of the Knights of Columbus, National Rifle Association and Southern MN Sportsman’s Club.

He is survived by his wife, Betty, of 61 years; two daughters, Sandra (Reggie) Rasner of Apple Valley, MN and Kathleen (Tim) Bramble of Zumbrota; two grandchildren, Aaron (Jane) Rasner and Makenna Bramble; his siblings, Orville (Phyllis) Alcott of Rochester, Stanley Alcott of Dodge Center, Marjorie Garrett of California, Alice (Tom) Volberding of Ottertail and Joyce (Loren) Wiener of Sauk Centre. The family of Dale E. Alcott has received the following condolences.

So sorry to hear about the loss of Dale, you probably don't recognize the name, but we bought the hardside pop-up camper from you, and you guys were always so nice and friendly to us.

Please accept my condolences for your great loss of Mr. Dale E. Alcott to our common enemy death. As you go through this trying time and reflect on pleasant memories for comfort, may you get some comfort from the words of Isaiah 33: 24 and 25:7,8 which gives us the assurance that God will wipe out sickness and death forever.

Betty and Family,

Our condolences to you in the loss of Dale.  Though he had been battling with his health for several years, no one is prepared for the final goodbye when it happens.  May you find some comfort in your many memories.  Jerry always enjoyed Dale’s company at the LOW morning coffee gatherings.  You never knew when he’d make a funny remark.
