Cynthia Ann Fister

Cindy A. Fister, 55, of Rochester, died Thursday, December 20, at Rochester Health Services East surrounded by her family and friends.

She was born on May 31, 1963 in Rochester to Gus and Ann Chafoulias. She graduated from St. Calettis High School in Jefferson, WI in 1982 and Rochester Community College with a nursing assistant degree.

On September 5, 1993, she married Mark A. Fister in Rochester. They live in Kasson, MN.

Cindy worked at many nursing homes until her health started to fail. She loved doing artwork and had many art galleries. After her galleries, she would lovingly give her pictures to the staff and residents at the nursing home to cheer them up. She enjoyed spending time with her husband and her dogs. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church of Rochester.

Cindy is survived by her husband, Mark; mother, Ann Collins of West Palm Beach, FL; father, Gus Chafoulias of Rochester; two sisters, Ann Chafoulias of Scottsdale, AZ, and Charyl LeTourneau of ME; and one brother, Andy Chafoulias of Rochester. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews including several on Mark’s side of the family; and her two dogs, Noel and Dudley.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents.

The family would like to thank Rochester Health Services East for all the special care they’ve provided especially organizing Cindy’s art galleries.

Memorials are preferred to Redeemer Lutheran Church.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at Redeemer Lutheran Church with Rev. Benjamin Loos officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery.

Dear Chafoulias and extended families,  I was so sorry to hear about Cindy's passing.  I only had a few occasions to meet and chat with her, but her sweet, cheerful, and loving personality has always stuck  with me, and will as I remember her during this sad time for your family.  Love, Catherine McPherson
