Corrine “Corky” Welch

Corrine Anne “Corky” Welch, age 90, passed away peacefully at her home on February 18, 2020.

Corrine Anne Busch was born on January 31, 1930 in Jordan, MN to John and Rose (Schommer) Busch. She graduated from Jordan High School in 1947. Following high school, she was awarded a music scholarship from MacPhail School of Music. After meeting the love of her life, Russell Welch, she decided to get married, and on October 24, 1948 they were married at the Little Brown Church in the Vale, at Nashua, Iowa. Together they raised two children as the family traveled for Russell’s commitment to the US Military. Upon Russell’s military retirement in 1969, the family made Rochester their home. Corky was an accomplished musician who specialized in playing the organ and piano. She was a devout member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Rochester, playing organ for many years. She applied her love of music and her sharp skills in many areas of life including for local weddings, fundraisers, parties, funerals and at three different churches.

She is survived by her children Kevin (Connie) Welch of Shakopee, Maureen Welch of Rochester; two grandchildren Justin (Honor) Welch of San Diego, CA, Paula (Robert) Moe of Hoboken, NJ; a great-granddaughter Malin Moe, and her sister Gloria (Francis) Mamer of Jordan, MN.

She is preceded in death by her husband Russell, her brothers Donald, Roman, Jerry, Vernon, James and Roger.

The Funeral Service for Corky will be held on Monday, February 24, 2020 at 11:00AM at Redeemer Lutheran Church (869 7th Ave SE Rochester, MN 55904) with Pastor Adam Koglin officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Rochester.

My Dear Maureen and family, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your mother. I do remember hearing her play the organ a few times and she did it with beauty, grace and passion. Please take care and know she is certainly an Angel of of our Lord. God's Blessings to you and family,

Deepest sympathy and prayers for strength for Busch family and friends during loss of this beautiful woman.

Aunt Corky had the gift of graciously welcoming new people into the family and she was a beautiful lovely lady inside and out, she always made me feel safe and loved even after being run over by a truck and having to spend Christmas season in Rochester. Many days I would wake up and she or Maureen would be sitting by my bedside, I will never forget the love and kindness that I felt. Her beautiful twinkling blue eyes smiling at me when ever I remember that time I think of how much love surrounded us, she was already angelic and will be missed by everyone she came in contact with.

Angelic Aunt Corrine always in our hearts, till we meet again ?

Sorry for your loss. You have gained a special guardian angel.

Dearest Welch and Busch Families,

My deepest sympathies to you at this time.  Please know, from here in Hong Kong, you are in my thoughts.  I have many fond memories of Aunt Corky, she was an exceptional person.  The qualities that come to my mind when I think of Aunt Corky:  family focused, kind, courageous, strong, super talented, funny/wonderful sense of humor, generous in giving of her time and talents to others.  I will always remember Aunt Corky, she helped bring out the best in all the Busch's, she made us proud and she made us smile, always.  And no doubt, Aunt Corky and Uncle Russ are now together, with our Lord.  May God Bless Aunt Corky and all the Welch and Busch families, Keith Busch

May The Road Rise Up To Meet You, Aunt Corrine.

May the wind be always at your back.

May the sun shine warm upon your face;

The rains fall soft upon your fields

And until we meet again,

May God hold you

In the palm of His hand.
