Clarence M. “Knute” Brown
Clarence M. “Knute” Brown, age 83 of Rochester left this world behind on October 25, 2014 hopefully to dwell in the house of the Lord.
He was born on April 11, 1931 to Clarence David Brown and Meta Violet Wright at home in Oronoco, where he grew up and lived until he enlisted in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Lake Charles, LA where he met the love of his life, Mary Louise Lamprise, whom he married August 16, 1952. Soon after they relocated to Oronoco, Minnesota where they lived and raised their family.
Knute worked at Utilities Sales and Engineering (HIMEC) as a sheet metal fabricator for 42 years and he was a proud member of the Sheet Metal Union for 60 years. In his earlier years he enjoyed hunting and fishing; later years, he enjoyed golfing.
Knute leaves behind his children; Linda Knudsen (Scott) of Mantorville, Patti Wallace of Eyota, Mike Brown (Lori) of Douglas, Joe Brown of Rochester, and Scott Brown of Rochester; 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; one sister, Sandy Ness (Frank) of Kasson and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary; 2 daughters, Tammy Butcher and Judy Brown; a granddaughter, Courtney Butcher, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Memorial service will be held 11:00am Thursday, October 30, 2014 in the River Park Chapel, Macken Funeral Home with the Rev. Carol L. Shaffer officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00am to 11:00am on Thursday prior to the service. Burial will be in Oronoco Cemetery with military honors provided by the American Legion Post 92.
The family would like to thank Seasons Hospice for all they did in the last 10 months of Knute’s life and a special thank you to Dr. Macbeth of Northwest Dental for making a house call for our Dad (Dad did get to eat that last steak!).

Dear Cousins, This has been a very trying times the last couple of years for all of you. I am so very happy I made the trip to visit both of your parents and I know yhey enjoyed my visit as I enjoyed them. They are now with their Uncle L.C. and Aunt Rose my parents and so many more people that loved them so much. My prayers are with all of you and Mike & Lorie I will need a new phone number to keep up with the family. Love to all!!
