Clarence Frank William Jech

Clarence Frank William Jech of Elgin, MN, passed away peacefully on his farm on September 15, 2020, surrounded by his family.

Clarence was born in Austin, MN to Henry and Elsie (Boehm) Jech on February 15, 1931. Clarence served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. He was part of the Company A 249th Engr Bn. Clarence received the National Defense service medal.

He married Rosella O’Connell on August 4, 1956 at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in Simpson, MN. They farmed in numerous areas then bought the Jech family farm in Elgin, MN, where they raised their six children. He had a deep passion for farming. The Jech Farm is still run by son, Dale Jech and grandsons, Matthew and Mitchell Jech.

Clarence enjoyed fishing and taking long drives with his siblings.

He is survived by his children; Ron (Dina) Jech of Texas, Gary (Karen) Jech of Elgin, Dean Jech, Dawn Jech, Dale (Kim) Jech of Elgin, and Steve (Shelly) Jech of Elgin; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; brother, Loren Jech; and sister, Leona “Beezie” (Cambern) Jech.

He was preceded in death by his father, Henry; mother, Elsie; wife, Rosella; brothers, Robert, Albert, and Kenny; and sisters, Edna, Lillian, and Mildred.

The family of Clarence wishes to extend our deepest gratitude to the staff at Seasons Hospice in Rochester. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Seasons Hospice in the Jech Family Name. The visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home. The burial will follow at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Elkton. There will be a Celebration of Life at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2020 on the family farm.

Condolences to the entire Jech family. Over many years I have learned to love Clarence and what he stood for family and farming. He was a lovely man. His love and passion for his family and work were always evident. He left a wonderful family legacy and he will be missed.
