Charles V. “Chuck” Duryea

Charles V. “Chuck” Duryea, 73, of Rochester passed away peacefully Friday, November 5, 2021 at Whitewater Heath Services in St. Charles Minnesota after a short illness.

Chuck was born November 29, 1947 in Rochester to Virgil and Mary (Nigon) Duryea. He was raised on the family farm and graduated in 1966 from Lourdes High School. He worked in the family well and pump business for several years and then took over the family farm, raising beef cattle.

Chuck enjoyed reading, hunting, fishing, and was a gifted gunsmith. He was able to fix guns no one else would attempt. He was a great resource person for all his friends and neighbors. He will be definitely missed by all. He was a great animal lover, especially dogs.

He is survived by a sister, Kathy Duryea of Rochester, several beloved cousins and many loyal friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Chuck gave one of the most generous gifts of donating his body to the Anatomical Bequest Program at Mayo Clinic.

The Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00am Friday, November 19, 2021 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church with Fr. Tim Biren officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial at a later date in Oakwood Cemetery in Rochester.

We are so sorry for your loss.  I can remember Chuck coming over at night and sitting around our kitchen table with Dad, Doug Peterson, and talking for hours many many nights.  Think of him often.
