Catherine “Cat” Leona Leesman Borell

On Tuesday, May 11, 2010, Catherine Leona Leesman Borell passed away from breast cancer at her home surrounded by family.   Catherine’s enthusiasm for life inspired those around her and she was endeared by all who knew her.

Catherine was born on June 28, 1973 in Athens, GA and lived her early years in Madison, WI, Plainsboro, NJ and Naperville, IL.  She graduated from Winona State University in 1996 and has resided in Rochester for the past 10 years.  Catherine was a Sales Manager for the DoubleTree Hotel in Rochester.  On March 7, 2009, she married Jeremy James Borell in Walker, MN.

Catherine is survived by her husband Jeremy; one son, Nathan Drew Leesman-Wiesner of Rochester; her parents, Anne Tolan of Pine Island, MN and Glen David Leesman of Del Mar, CA; and one sister Jeannie Marie Leesman of Santa Fe, NM.  She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Anne and Robert John Tolan and her paternal grandmother, Leona Madge Leesman.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations be made to the Nathan Leesman-Wiesner trust fund or to sponsor Catherine’s team, The Catwalking Solesisters, in the annual 3-Day for the Cure Susan G. Komen walk.

The funeral Mass for Catherine will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 15, 2010, at the Church of the Resurrection in Rochester, with the Rev. Thomas Loomis officiating.  Visitation is from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 14, 2010 at Church of the Resurrection and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
