Catherine Ann Aagenes

Catherine Ann Aagenes, 50, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on July 16, 2019 at her home in Rochester following a battle with cancer. She had a very strong faith until the very end, and always believed that “God will take the cancer from me, or take me from the cancer”.

Catherine Ann Collado was born on March 9, 1969 in Fargo, ND to Daniel and Angele (Jacobs) Collado. She graduated from Alexandria High School in 1987. She then enrolled in North Dakota State University where she met her future husband, Karl Aagenes. She graduated with a degree in textiles and apparel. Later, she obtained her cosmetology license and worked part time as a cosmetologist. They were married on June 2, 1990 in Alexandria, MN. She accompanied Karl in his various military assignments throughout the southwest United States. They ultimately settled in Rochester in 1997. Together they raised three children. Faith, family, knitting, and her pets were extremely important to her.

She is survived by her husband, Karl of Rochester; her children, Abby (Abhijeet Nimje) Aagenes of St. Paul, MN, Ryan of Rochester, Derek of Rochester; her parents, Daniel and Angele Collado of Austin, M;, her siblings, Jon (Kimberlee) Collado of Bismarck, ND, Julie (David) Holt of Dallas, TX, and Teresa Collado of Bismarck, ND.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents.

The Memorial Service for Catherine will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2019 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with Chantz Hall officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the chapel.

CAPT Hal Kessler

We are so sorry for your loss.  Having grown up next to the Collado family in Alexandria we have many fond memories.  We hope the many great memories you have of Cathy help with the healing.

Cathy was my neighbor and classmate in Alexandria, MN.  I am shocked that this awful disease continues to take humans of all ages.  Prayers for her family may you all feel loved and know you thought about during this time.

Though we have been apart for many years, our hearts and prayers are with your families in this time of lose.

I am so sorry to hear of Cathy's passing. I remember when she and a friend would come in to the TV station in Alexandria after school, singing and dancing to Michael Jackson. She was always friendly and cheerful. By the looks of her photo, that never changed. My sincere condolences! - Pete

Karl,

I am very sorry for your loss.  Please accept our deepest condolences from your BOP Pharmacy family.  We will keep you and your family in our thoughts and prayers.  Please let me know if there is anything we can do for you.

Danny and Angele,

My deepest sympathy on the loss of your daughter. I never had the privilege of meeting her but I am sure I would have enjoyed her strength, vitality, and personality. Your memories of her will be forever treasured.  Prayers for you to heal your hearts and recover as best as you can.

Aloha,

Cousin Francine

You may not remember me. I was part of your lives for a short time. I just wanted you to know that I remember your family, and I am praying for you.

Aagenes Family,

My heart is aching as yours is. She was my winter as I was her summer. Two very different people, personalities...just opposite. However, many years ago she was my all, my sidekick. When we visited each other in our respected states, the good-byes were so emotional. Even though time, location and life has separated us over the decades she will always be my special winter. Sending your family love and peace. I will see you again one day my dear friend. All my heart, Kelly

Catherine's Beloved Family ~

Sincere condolences on such a tremendous loss to your family.   May you each feel the deep caring of family and friends to help you through the difficult times, to share treasured memories, to honor Cathy's legacy of beautifully touching others' lives.   In time, may peace fill the hole in your heart, knowing she will be forever smiling proudly down from Heaven on each of you.

Karl, Derek, Ryan and Abby, you have my deepest empathy ~

Jane

Karl, Abby, Ryan, and Derek,

My deepest sympathies on the death of your wife and mother. Cancer is so hard on everyone who has experienced this type of fight. May light perpetual shine upon her, may she rest in peace, and may her memory be eternal.
