Carroll Baruth

The funeral Mass for Carroll L. Baruth will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church.

Carroll Baruth, 68, died Wednesday (November 11, 2009) at his home.  He had been ill for some time.

He was born May 22, 1941 on Rosebud Indian Reservation in Wagner, South Dakota to George and Helen Baruth.  On April 15, 1968, he married Kathy Baruth at St. Bridget’s. They had two children, Lisa and Joshua.

Carroll worked as a school psychologist for Austin public schools for many years, and worked for a number of other school districts in the area, as well as Zumbro Valley Mental Health Center. Carroll also taught psychology at Riverland Community College.   He had been a member of the former Rochester Police Reserve and did psychological testing for the RCTC law enforcement program.

Carroll loved boating and fishing and enjoyed spending time with his family at his cabin in Wisconsin.  He was a great collector and very creative person who enjoyed building projects, games, and music.

Carroll is survived by his wife Kathy, son Josh, daughter Lisa and son-in-law Mustafa Zahir.  He is also survived by Leroy Barth and numerous nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents George and Helen Baruth.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Macken Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
