Carrie M. Jestness

Carrie Jestness, 57, of Pleasant Grove, MN, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2018, in her home, surrounded by her family. Carrie was born March 6, 1961 in Rochester, MN to John and Eileen Bush.

She graduated from Mabel-Canton High School in 1979. In 1982, she married Stacey Richardson of Canton, MN. They divorced in 1989. In 1991, she married Jayme Jestness of Rochester, MN. They resided in Rochester for a few years before moving to Pleasant Grove. Carrie worked at Mayo Clinic as a medical secretary for over 20 years, a role that she was very proud of.

Carrie had many interests including camping, traveling, crafting, and visiting wineries, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends. Having her grandkids around her brought her so much joy and comfort.

Survivors include her parents; husband, Jayme; two brothers: David (Pamela) Bush and Tom Bush; three children: Travis (Terra) Richardson of Chester, MN, Ashley Wood of Burnsville, MN, and Chase Jestness of Mankato, MN: 6 grandkids: Bryanna, Tyler, Ricky, Gabe, Freya and Aalea; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, and father-in-law.

A memorial service for Carrie M. Jestness will be Friday, January 4, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home in Rochester, MN, with Rev. Brenda Ziebell officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Condolences

The family of Carrie M. Jestness has received the following condolences.

Jeannie and I are so sorry to hear this. We only learned about Carrie’s passing last night. When I hear about someone like Carrie passing away, so young and so loved, it makes me question everything. So very unfair.

It is an honor and a privilege to have worked with, and cared for, Carrie over the past decade.  I will always remember her great courage and gentle spirit.

My sympathy to all of you. Carrie was a wonderful person and a dear friend. She will truly be missed.

I am thinking of all of you today.

Karla

My prayers and condolences to Jayme and family!  May God shine down upon you all and bless you all during this difficult time.  I first met Carrie at Rochester Votech in medical secretary school.  I had just moved to Rochester and had no family or friends, and she was a kind and friendly person and we became good friends.  When I was hired at Mayo right out of school, she was pregnant with Chase and wanted to be a stay-at-home mom for a while, so she offered to watch my son, Christopher Haessig for several years.  I have pictures of her and Jayme and Chase and Christopher at my apartment and also some pictures of Travis, Ashley, and Christopher in Halloween costumes all ready to go trick-or-treating for the evening.  Even though we lost track of one another, I did see her a several times at Mayo in the subway, and we hugged and reminisced a bit.  As of October 17, 2018, I started working in Radiation Oncology and found out what a small world it was and that she had worked there for many, many years!  She may have shared with me where she was working those few times we bumped into one another, but I didn't remember until I started working in Radiation Oncology.  All her coworkers speak very highly of her!  She was always smiling whenever I saw her, a smile that would light up any room!  I know she loved her family immensely!  May you rest in peace, Carrie!  You will be missed by many!

I am so sorry for Carrie's families loss. I did not see her often but when I did it was a joy! The world will be a sader place without her in it.
