Carol Mae Aug, 87, of Rochester, died peacefully surrounded by family on February 15, 2026.
Carol was born in Waukon, IA, on September 15, 1938. She was a graduate of Preston High School. On May 5, 1962, Carol was united in marriage to Richard Roy Aug, at Christ Lutheran Church in Preston. She worked at Mayo Clinic in Rochester for 25 years until her retirement in 1994. After her retirement, Carol continued serving the community providing at home healthcare.
Carol was the epitome of devotion. She was not only devoted to her family but was a devoted servant to God. She was a member of the Rochester Community Church and showed her love of Christ by helping others and putting others before herself.
Carol loved watching her kids and grandkids play sports. She loved to watch the Vikings & Twins play. She also loved playing cards and was known for her baking.
Carol, was a devoted mother and is survived by her three sons, Kyle (Nancy) of Lakeville, Craig (Sarah) of Pine Island, and Gary (Christine) of Nolensville, TN; a treasured grandmother to Michael (Jessica) Aug, Suzie Aug, Miranda (Ryan) Borgwardt, Robyn Aug, Brendan Aug, Natalie Aug, Nicholas Aug, Madison Aug, Haley Aug, Morgan Aug and Miles Aug; and to great-grandchildren, Bennett Aug, Jackson Aug, Charlotte Borgwardt, Wyatt Aug, Olivia Borgwardt and Natalia Borgwardt.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, granddaughter Meghan; sister, Lois Ramaker; and her brother, Bob Jacobson.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Rochester Community Church with a visitation held one hour prior to the service.

I was so sorry to hear of Carol's passing. She was a lovely, kind woman. She was so friendly and welcoming to us when we moved into Gramercy. I will miss visiting with her at the Ladies' afternoon coffee gathering. Prayers for you all.

I am so sorry to hear of Carole's passing. She was a neighbor here at Gramercy. I've only known her a few years but we had some nice conversations at afternoon coffee. We had spoken about our common history of being nurses at Mayo. My sincere condolences to the family.
