Betty Jean Larson
Betty J. (Tainter) Larson, age 90 of Rochester, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2018 at Madonna Meadows. She was born on September 1, 1927 in Readstown, WI. She married Kenneth H. Larson on June 23, 1948 in Readstown.
Betty is preceded in death by parents, Zilmer and Mabel Tainter; her son, Steven Larson; and her grandson, Kurt Bristol. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Kenneth Larson of Rochester; daughter, Susan (David) Bristol of Hugo, MN; sons, Stewart Larson of Belgrade, MT, and Stan (Michelle) Larson of Rochester; 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her twin sister, Bonney Deckert of Readstown, WI; brothers, Keith Tainter of Westby, WI, Ken (Darlene) Tainter of Ontario, WI, and Larry (Debbie) Tainter of McFarland, WI.
Betty was a farm girl and taught elementary school most of her adult life retiring at age 62. She loved gardening, especially flowers, and putting puzzles together.
The memorial service for Betty will be held on Monday, August 20, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home (1119 11 ½ Street SE Rochester, MN 55904). Visitation will be held starting at 9:30 a.m. in the chapel prior to the service on Monday, August 20, 2018. Burial of her ashes will be held on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at the Manning Cemetery in Readstown, WI. All are welcome.
