Betty Christine Theel

Betty Christine (Stromberg) Theel died on November 22, 2021 in her home.

Betty was born on September 22, 1925 in Rochester to Clara and Chester Stromberg. She married LuVerne Theel on February 20, 1954. They lived on the Theel Family Farm where they raised 2 sons, Wayne and Loren.

She attended country school and then graduated from Rochester schools. She went on to business school in the Twin Cities then worked at Mayo Clinic as a secretary. Betty spoke of moving from town when she was just 4 years old because of the depression, where she helped with many chores and had some very good friends.

She was an active member of Bethel Lutheran Church, where she also enjoyed quilting the Christmas Tea and rummage sale. Betty and LuVerne enjoyed trips with friends and card nights.

Betty is survived by her sons, Wayne Theel and Loren (Julie) Theel, both of Eyota; granddaughter, Anna Theel; step-grandchildren, Andrew Finley (Ellie Swanson), LaShawna Petersen, and Nathan Petersen; great-grandchildren, Sawyer, Evelynn, and Haven.

She was preceded in death by her husband, LuVerne; parents, Clara and Chester; brother, Donald; sister-in-law, Louise, and mother and father-in-law, Arthur and Anna.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Bethel Lutheran Church, with visitation 1 hour prior to the service.

Condolences

The family of Betty Christine Theel has received the following condolences.

Wayne,

Sorry to hear of your loss. She is with our Lord now.

Your old Sunday school friend,  Bill

We're sorry to hear of Betty's passing.  We have many fond memories of visiting their farm outside Rochester.  Of course, my parents (Bernard and Dorothy), always kept in contact with them.  They would often visit our family farm in Pingree.  Great memories.  A life well lived.

Dennis & Betty Steele

Betty will be missed! She was part of Bethel Quilters and we realky needed her sewing skills. She was always happy to see us. Thanks, Betty, for all your work. May God bless her family!!

Our deepest sympathy to you and your family.  Wayne and Loren and the entire Theel family, hold your memories in your heart.  The memories of visiting your parents on the farm was so memorable as a youngster and visiting again with our children.  Your Mom and Dad were always so kind and gracious during our visits.  Our prayers are with you and your family.
