Bernice K Rinde

Bernice K. Rinde, 90, died Saturday, October 19, 2019 in Scottsdale , AZ.

She was born with the given name Katherine Selma Bernice on October 28, 1928 in Park River, ND to Alfred and Clara (Johnson) Kjelland. She attended nursing school at St. Luke in Fargo, ND, graduating as an RN. On June 21, 1953 she married Dean J. Rinde. The couple celebrated 60 years of marriage prior to Dean’s passing in 2013. They moved to Rochester , MN in 1966. Bernice continued her long nursing career at Methodist Hospital and became a head nurse in the Mayo Health System before her retirement.

Bernice loved her family, friends, and neighbors. She was a good friend to all who knew her. She is survived by her son, Paul Rinde (Lisa) of Amery, WI, her granddaughter, Alexa (fiancé Josh) of Minneapolis, special niece, Cathy Uglem of Fargo, nephew, Bruce (Jonal) Uglem of Hatton, ND, and other relatives. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dean, her son, Scott, her sisters, Alpha Kjelland and Glenna Uglem and her nephew, David Uglem.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, October 28th at 2:00pm at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with Pastor Charles Leonard officiating. Family will be available a half hour before the service and for a reception immediately following the service at the church.  Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens.

Memorials preferred to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

Losing mom is a really big loss! Lost mine a year ago. I have no doubt you will persevere and move forward as your mother would wish. It's a gratitude moment, remembering all the great times you had!
