Bernard “Bernie” Frank Kluck

Bernard (Bernie) Frank Kluck, 82, of Rochester passed away peacefully August 20, 2017 at St. Marys Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Bernie was born in New Ulm, MN on November 16, 1934 to Benhard and Beatrice (Schnobrich) Kluck. He graduated from Catherdral High School in New Ulm and attended South Dakota State University in Brookings, SD.

He met the love of his life, Barbara Farrington and they were married soon after on February 16, 1957 at Peter and Paul’s Catholic Church in Mankato. The couple moved to Rochester and Bernie worked for Olmsted County Public Health Department for 33 years.

Bernie enjoyed singing and was actively involved in the church choir as well as the Rochester Male Chorus. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus as well as a proud charter member of the Leinie Lodge.

Bernie and Barb raised their family in Stewartville. He loved to camp with family and friends, no matter the season and even dabbled in cross-country skiing. Barb and Bernie travelled to Italy, Spain, Austria, and his most favorite, Germany where he drove the autobahn left lane! His passions were cars and watching golf.

Bernie is survived by his wife of 61 years, Barbara; one son, Brad (Sara) Kluck of Rochester; and two daughters, Beth (Scott) Wibben of Green Bay, WI and Kristin (Jim) Wing of La Crosse, WI; grandchildren, Jason, Thomas, Amy, Jennifer, Jessie, Nicole, Adam, Jamey and Annie; great-grandchildren, Ava, Cole, Grace, Peighton, Jameson and Jaxon; and six siblings, David (Jackie) Kluck of Bel Air, MD, Kathy (John) Lenertz of Lakeville, MN, Mike (Nancy) Kluck of Mankato, MN, Sue Broderick of Mankato, MN, Mark (Mary) Kluck of Wanamingo, MN, Nancy (Mike) McClain of Mankato, MN.

He is preceded in death by his parents, uncle Stan Schnobrich and nephew, David Broderick.

Heartfelt thanks to the Mayo Medical Staff 1, Mayo Hospice, the nurses and PCAs of Domitilla 3D.
