Bay Thi Huynh

Bảy Thị Huynh, 68 of Rochester, MN passed peacefully Wednesday, April 1, 2026 surrounded by her loved ones.

Bảy was born August 4, 1957, in Saigon, Vietnam to Huynh Van Ty (father) and Doan Thi Lieu (mother). On November 9, 1978, she married Bui Nguyen. Bay immigrated to Rochester, MN in 1986 to join her husband. Bay lived in Rochester for the remainder of her life.

Bảy loved to travel to many countries, especially Vietnam. She was a devout Buddhist member at Lien Hoa Meditation Center in Rochester, MN. In her youth, she attended Thanh Linh Catholic School in Vietnam. She loved going to school, but she loved skipping school even more to spend time with Bui. Their love remained constant throughout her life. Bảy’s way of showing love was to ask “Con ăn chưa? (Have you eaten yet?)” and then making the most delicious meals for the ones she loved. She also found great joy from helping others.

She is survived by her husband, Bui Nguyen; daughters, Phuong Wippler (Ryan), Christina Whitcomb (Kent), Bonnie Nguyen (Jason), Earline Nguyen (Chris); son, Rodney Nguyen (Anna); six grandchildren, Bella, Kyler, Lily, Merrick, Paisley, and Miles. She is preceded in death by her parents, one older sister and two younger brothers.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home. A Buddhist ceremony will be held from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM and all are welcome to share memories of Bảy from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

Any memorial gifts will be donated to Lien Hoa Meditation Center in Rochester, MN. Mọi khoản đóng góp tưởng niệm sẽ được quyên tặng cho Chùa Liên Hoa tại Rochester, MN.
