Barbara A. Lichty

Barbara Ann Lichty passed away at the age of 75 on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Mayo Clinic Hospital Saint Marys Campus.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Evangel United Methodist Church in Rochester with Pastor Mark Rader and Pastor Susie O’Connell officiating. Visitation at the church will take place at 10:00am until start of the service.  She will be laid to rest in Grandview Memorial Gardens.

Barbara Ann Boberg was born on February 10, 1942 in Pontiac Michigan and adopted as an infant by Harvey and Lorraine Boberg.  The family moved shortly thereafter to Minnesota where Barb grew up in Ruthon, MN until 1952 when the family settled in Rochester, MN.  She attended Rochester elementary schools and graduated from John Marshall High School in 1960.

Barb worked as a Nurse’s Aide at Rochester Methodist Hospital, followed by farming with her husband, and finally her 20 years dedication to in-home day care.  She considered her care, love and pride for her “kids” as her greatest accomplishment.  Barb married Richard (Dick) Lichty, the love of her life, on October 2, 1971 who preceded her in death on September 14, 2017.

Barbara is survived by a brother Dick (Carol) Boberg of Prescott, AZ and her lifelong dearest friend Bonnie Diersen who has been a “sister” and loving caretaker to her.  In addition to her husband, Richard, she was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Carol (Robert) Pike.

Memorials are preferred to Evangel United Methodist Church
