Arminta R. Fowler
Arminta Ruth (Ault) Fowler, 88, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2026, at the Stewartville, MN Care Center. A woman of unwavering kindness and a nurturing spirit, Arminta dedicated her life to the care of others.
Born on August 27, 1937, in Farnhamville, Iowa, to Harvie Willard and Ayedena Belle (Amsden) Ault, Arminta was raised and educated in Somers, Iowa. In 1954, she moved with her family to Hayfield, Minnesota, where she graduated from Hayfield High School in 1957.
Arminta’s professional calling was found in healthcare. For decades, she served as a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) across Minnesota, working in nursing homes in Rochester, Hayfield, Pine Island, Coon Rapids, and La Grange. She also spent two years as a dedicated Home Health Aide with Shamrock of Rochester, providing comfort to those in their own homes.
On June 25, 1960, she married Richard Kostel, they were later divorced. In November 1981, she found a lifelong partner, George Fowler.
She is survived by her four children, Donnalou Kostel (Rochester), Mitchell (Brenda) Kostel (Rochester) and Darrick (Melissa) Kostel (Rochester). Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Kari Mae, Katie, Kelly, and Kris Tomek all of Lake Elmo; Bonnie Kostel (Atlanta, GA); Kari Mae Sweet (Rochester); Heather Kostel and Ashley Hutsell; Tasa Kostel, Tyler Kostel, Shannon Sweet, and Jacob Kostel. She was also a proud great-grandmother.
Arminta is further survived by her two brothers, Keith (Naome), Russell (Karen), along with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins across the Midwest.
She is preceded in death by her first husband Richard (2018), second husband George (2016) her son Karl Tomek, her brother Denver and her parents.
A service for Arminta is planned for Spring 2026 to coincide with the burial at Hayfield, MN Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at the Hayfield American Legion after the burial. Exact dates and times are yet to be announced.
