Arlis H. Feehan

Arlis H. Feehan, age 88, passed away on October 9, 2023 at St Mary’s Hospital due to an unexpected illness. Arlis was born March 3, 1935 in Houston County to Arthur and Harriet (Unnasch) Papenfuss and grew up on the family farm. Arlis graduated from Winona Cotter High School in 1953 and went to work in the administration office at Watkins in Winona. Arlis met her husband, Michael (Mike) A. Feehan, while renting an apartment from his mother in Winona. After they were married on July 20, 1957, they moved to Rochester to start a life together and raise a family. Arlis went to work for Rochester Plumbing and Heating in 1960 as a bookkeeper where she worked full-time until age 62 and part-time until age 77.

Arlis enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, reading, watching TV (especially the MN Twins), and most of all spending time with her family.

Arlis will be missed by her daughter Sandy Feehan and her life-long partner Don Huseby; son Randy (Barb) Feehan; grandson Erik (Ashley) Feehan and great-granddaughter Emerson; sister Charlotte (Tina); brothers Lawrence, Alton, Marvin, and Charles; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Mike, parents Harriet and Arthur, brother Wayne Papenfuss, sister Darlene Patzner, grandson Ryan Feehan, sister-in-law’s Winifred Papenfuss and Patricia Papenfuss; and brother in-law Claude Patzner.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 16, 2023 at 11:00 AM in the River Park Chapel at the Macken Funeral Home with Pastor Karen Foster officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

Condolences

The family of Arlis H. Feehan has received the following condolences.

Sandy and Don:

Please accept my deepest sympathies on the loss of your mother. May God carry you through in this difficult time.

Sandy and Randy, I am so sorry for the loss of your mother, my aunt Arlis.  I wish I could have attended her funeral and give you both a hug during this difficult time.  I can almost hear her and my Mom laughing in heaven.  I remember talking with your Mom over Skype once when she was visiting my Mom's house.  I think it was shortly before my Mom passed when Marvin and Linda was staying there, too.  They were having a blast and that is how I will remember her and my Mom.

My condolences to the Feehan and Papenfuss families for the passing of Arlis.  Kenny Ranvik, Laurens SC

So sorry to hear of Arlis' passing.  I worked with Arlis at Rochester Plumbing and she was a joy to know. Everyone always looked forward to the holidays knowing Arlis would be bringing in her yummy cut out cookies!

Sorry to hear about Arlis, she was definitely one of a kind!
(Arlis—no more splitting a beer, you can have the whole can now!)

I have so many great memories flooding back to me right now just thinking of the great times with the Feehan’s. Arlis & Mike were like a second pair of parents—the really fun ones!!!

Thoughts, hugs, & love for all of you?

I am so sorry to hear about your Mom. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time. Try to remember all the good times and don't forget to laugh as you are reminiscing.  I was told this when my Mom died. She is with God  now and she is smiling down on you with your Dad and nephew by her side.
