Mrs. Earle, 90, of Rochester, died Thursday October 31, 2013 peacefully with her family by her side at Methodist Hospital in Rochester.

Arlene was born March 24, 1923 in Red Wing, Minnesota to John and Lydia (Nagel) Marks. Arlene was raised in Red Wing, but spent most of her adult life in Rochester. On June 15, 1946 she married Harry Earle in Red Wing and they later separated.

Arlene worked for Red Wing Shoes in Red Wing and for Holsom Thrift Shop in Rochester. She enjoyed going to Treasure Island, playing cards twice a week with Emily, Martha, and Loretta in Granger, weekly dominos at the Smith’s, 500 at the Pelnar’s, and Yatzee with the family. Arlene traveled extensively and especially enjoyed a trip to Hawaii on her 81st birthday. The day before she turned 81 she climbed to the top of Diamond Head. April 20thArlene celebrated her 90th birthday, and over 100 guests attended it. Arlene was our rock and best friend.

Survivors include her sister, Verneil Gale, of Red Wing and her daughter, Sharon Earle, and her three son’s Mark, Gary, and Jeff Earle all of Rochester.  Arlene is also survived by her grandchildren Heidi (Jeff) Hanf of Rochester and Michael Earle of Eagan, MN as well as her great grandchildren Alana and Austin Hanf. Earle - I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your Mom.  It seems that she led a very active and long life.  I'm sure the memories you have with her, you will hold dear to your heart.  She must have been quite the woman to raise such a spirited, lively and fun boy.  My sympathies to you and your extended family - Alicia
