Anne Marie (Bowron) Pietranton

ANNE MARIE (BOWRON) PIETRANTON

October 27, 1978–September 11, 2025

With hearts full of love and sorrow, we share the news of the passing of our sweet Anne Marie (Bowron) Pietranton, 46, who joined the angels Thursday, September 11, 2025, surrounded by family, after bravely and gracefully living with a brain tumor for 10 years.

Anne was born October 27, 1978, in Rochester, Minn., one of three children of Alice Flood and Rick Bowron. She graduated from Rochester’s Lourdes High School in 1997 and from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire in 2002. Shortly after college, she moved to Las Vegas for her first job in education, stepping into the world with curiosity, courage, and an openness that brought her new adventures, friendships, and purpose. Faith was also an important part of Anne’s life, and she lived her Catholic values daily — through her kindness, generosity, and care for others.

While in Las Vegas, she earned a master’s degree from Lesley University. Anne was a teacher with the Clark County School District for more than 20 years, most recently serving as the Read by Grade 3 Coordinator at Keith and Karen Hayes Elementary School. Anne was more than an educator — she was a mentor, encourager, and cheerleader who made every child believe in their own light. Her devotion to her school community was an extension of her deep love for people.

In Las Vegas, Anne met her husband, Ryan Pietranton, and the two were married July 20, 2007. Over the next 18 years, they raised a beautiful family, including sons Matthew and Michael, with their two angels, daughters Katherine and Samantha, watching over the family from Heaven.

Her spirit was pure kindness — joyful, gentle, and full of light. Anne met every person without judgment and had a way of making others feel truly seen and loved. She was the best mother, a beloved wife, an adored daughter, a cherished sister, and a friend to so many.

Anne was a source of endless positivity. Her mantra was “We’ve got this.” She was a light in people’s lives, and a friend to all. She met every challenge head on and with a smile, always finding a bright spot.

She loved music, hiking, and bowling. She loved to play pickleball — and to make pickles for her friends and family. Anne lived life as if every day was a “yes day.” Making puzzles, playing games, dates with her husband, fun with friends, impromptu adventures with her kids — she embraced every aspect of life with an infectious enthusiasm.

While our hearts ache with the hole her absence leaves, we take solace in knowing Anne is now dancing in Heaven with her twin girls. Her legacy will live on in the love she poured into every life she touched. We honor her by carrying forward the incredible kindness she so freely showed to everyone around her.

Anne is survived by her husband Ryan Pietranton and remarkable sons Matthew (13) and Michael (11) of Las Vegas, who were the center of her world and the greatest joy of her life. She is also survived by her mother Alice Flood of Rochester; brother Christopher Bowron, sister-in-law Stephanie, niece Emily, and nephew Nick of Rochester; sister Jennifer Bowron and nephew Finn of St. Paul; brother-in-law Robert Pietranton of Los Angeles; countless dear friends; and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her beloved daughters Katherine Marie and Samantha Marie Pietranton, her father Rick Bowron, and her father- and mother-in-law Robert G. “Piet” and Linda Ann Pietranton.

The family would like to thank Anne’s doctors, nurses, and caregivers at Mayo Clinic in Rochester as well as the Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada for their compassionate care.

The Pietrantons, Floods, and Bowrons invite friends and family to attend either or both Celebrations of Life to honor Anne.

A Minnesota Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 18, from 1:00–4:00 pm at Lourdes High School, 2800 19th Street NW, Rochester, MN 55901. Anne would want everyone to be comfortable — please wear something casual, bright, and joyful in her honor.

A Las Vegas Celebration of Life will take place Saturday, October 25. Memorial mass will be held from 12:00–1:00 pm at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 5830 Mesa Park Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89135. Immediately following the mass, a reception, outdoor prayer service, and balloon release will take place next door at Bishop Gorman High School, 5959 S. Hualapai Way, Las Vegas, NV 89148, adjacent to Holy Spirit. Once again, Anne would want everyone to dress comfortably — and if the spirit moves you to wear her favorite colors of green and blue, even better. The reception will also include family activities and games for all ages.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Anne’s honor to a fund established for her sons’ education or to a charity with personal meaning to you. Those wishing to contribute to the educational fund can contact Anne’s family for more details.
